There are a large number of employment policies and procedures that are required to ensure that you are adhering to best practice with regards to your employees.

Having fully compliant, robust and easy to follow employment policies and procedures are essential for the smooth running of your business and the welfare of anyone involved in your setting.

However it is not enough to just ‘have’ policies, you will need to ensure that they are effectively communicated and understood by your employees.  A group session is an ideal way for you to outline the policies, each employees’ responsibility and the consequences of breaching the policies.

The Nursery HR People are fully committed to providing the settings that we look after with the support and guidance they need so that they can focus on what is important – the children in their care.

We recognise that HR can be confusing and time consuming especially in this day and age where employment legislation seems to be constantly changing and employment tribunals are threatened if you get something wrong.

We will talk you through any HR issue in your setting and provide you with both the tools (employment policies and procedures, contracts of employment, handbooks, training etc) and a bespoke level of support to guide you through what can be a stressful minefield.

The Nursery HR People provide a cloud based storage system which will give you access to every employment policy and procedure that you will need for your nursery, these are updated by qualified CIPD professionals so you can rest assured that whatever policy you access, and whenever you access it, it will be up to date, easy to understand and legally compliant.

For full details of the employment policies and procedures you can access through our online packages then please contact us 01509 833121. In addition we also write and publish blogs such as this that will give you pointers on how to put these into practice effectively. Benefits of having employment Policies and Procedures?

Firstly in order to be efficient you need to follow a set of rules that everyone understands. To ensure that you comply with the latest employment legislation it makes sense that you have employment policies and procedures in place to help you do this.

When employment policies and procedures are well thought out and, most importantly, implemented they provide common understanding and agreement on how things should be done within the setting. Employment policies and procedures provide clear instructions and guidelines on what must be done in a particular set of circumstances or with regard to a particular issue and eliminate any risk of ambiguity or upset. Any employment  policy or procedure created for your setting should reflect best practice and be compliant.

Employment policies and procedures will help you maintain a consistently professional setting, they will assist the induction of new employees and ongoing education of existing employees helping them to understand what is expected in terms of behaviour and performance resulting in them conducting themselves consistently and professionally.  A professionally run setting will appeal to your customers and more importantly benefit the children in your care.

If you are a new setting or an existing one that would like any assistance with your HR documents then please do not hesitate to get in touch with us. We have created a library of HR policies and procedures tailored specifically to the Early Years sector. Through our secure, online system, we are able to update your documents 365 days per year and keep you informed of any changes that have been made automatically.

If you have any feedback on this blog or have any other comments to add we would love to hear from you.
